The UK Association for Accessible Formats is an organisation dedicated to promoting the principals of accessibilty in all media.
It is a fact that quite literally millions of pounds is wasted in the preparation of documents for normal use, due to lack of training. For example, many Word for Windows users do not know about Styles, and therefore how to build a Table of Contents in a document, a process which then takes only seconds.
And that’s BEFORE there is any consideration about making a document avaialable in alternative, accessible formats such are large print where obviously page numbers will change.
Making media accessible need not be as expensive an exercise as many imagine, and through the years this has been one of our own aims.
We’ll be exanding this section over the coming weeks and months, but meantime may we suggest you pay a visit to http://www.ukaaf.org and consider joining.
